The Importer Exporter Code (IEC) is a unique 10-digit identification code issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. It is mandatory for any business or individual engaged in import or export in India. Without an IEC, no person or entity can legally conduct import or export activities.
Note: Individuals importing or exporting goods for personal use, unrelated to trade, manufacturing, or agriculture, are exempt from obtaining an IEC.
At Book Max Consultancy, Bangalore, we are trusted experts in IEC registration and compliance. Our team helps businesses with new IEC registrations, updates or modifications, and guidance on Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) to ensure smooth and lawful international trade operations.
